  • JPFO: "NRA Disgraces itself - Again"

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership condemns the NRA's support of HR2640 and its alliance with the antigun bigots who are pimping it in the Senate.

So now we have two of the "big three" gun rights organizations saying that the NRA is wrong in doing this - along with Ted Nugent, who is a member of the NRA Board of Directors.

Those who still think that the NRA is doing the right thing owe it to themselves to read and think about the stand that Ted Nugent, GOA and JPFO have taken.

For Ted's commentary, click here http://www.tednugent.com/hunting/hun...?PostID=179060

The so-called Republican party has sold out - it has sacrificed true conservative values and commitment to a republican form of government for political expediency. As a result, we now have "neoconservativism" - aka SOCIALISM LITE.

It appears that the NRA is taking the same path of political expediency by jumping into bed with antigun bigots like McCarthy and Schumer.

    NRA DISGRACES ITSELF - AGAIN

At his famous "man in a glass box" trial in Israel, Nazi criminal Adolf Eichmann tried to explain how a whole nation went insane during the 1930s and 1940s. "Germans," he informed his captors, "lack civil courage."

One of the most unexpected and disheartening discoveries I made as a youth is that there are different kinds of courage. A man who shows admirable valor on the battlefield, for example, may be paralytically unable to talk to women. Similarly, in a world where people often say they would rather die than make a speech, and the terror invariably first or second on their list is of personal confrontation, the same warrior-type may be unable to stand up to the pressure of political processes.

I've seen the latter many, many times, most recently when the National Rifle Association cooperated with some of the nastiest, most notorious advocates of victim disarmament -- congressvulture Carolyn McCarthy, that blood-sucking scavenger of the dead for one -- to "tighten up" provisions of the highly-illegal Brady Law. Passed by the congress on an unrecorded voice vote, HR 2640, the "NICS Improvement Act" drags us not just another notch closer to national firearms registration, or even worse, to a national registry of firearms owners, but to a Big Brotherhood in which everything an individual does can be monitored and scrutinized electronically by jackbooted thugs.
Let's all ask ourselves one question: What would the Founders say to the NRA brass? I would say probably something along the lines of -
"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
"There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights." - Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler, USMC

"The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed." - Thomas Jefferson

I doubt it will do any good for them to read it, because as the article so accurately points out, the NRA disgraces itself "AGAIN". And again, and again, and again, and again, etc...

And still the lemmings have sent them money over the decades. So I see no upcoming change, as the uneducated masses simply repeat history over and over...

ps: Well, at least the NRA isn't HILLARY! Yes, yes, my conscience is now soothed... Write out anothr check, honey....whew!....at least it isn't Hillary... now dear, where is my remote, WWF is on in a couple minutes...

The problem(one of the problems) with the NRA is there are too many wheezing geezer old timers in that organization, and they just nod their heads yes to everything the head honchos proclaim.
They have no idea what direction the NRA has gone in the past several decades.

It's been infiltrated and stocked with liberal PC types at the top, and the old farts couldn't care less.
As long as they have their 30.30's and shotguns, they're happy.

And the NRA is the one causing the dividin' because they chose to support an anti gun bill that will disarm even more people.

                    Click to Recall Joaquin Jackson

NRA Voting Members, Call To Action!!

It starts with the membership taking control of the Board of Directors. WE HAVE THE POWER ACCORDING TO THE BYLAWS TO END THIS INSANITY but most of us choose to whine and cry then pull the sheets back over our heads. Help me out with this and we can start fixing the problem one Board member at a time.

I say again, if we meet the requirements for the recall it must go forward. NOone at NRA headquarters can stop it. WE vote pro 2A folks in, they can't stop us. IT'S IN OUR HANDS. We are 4.3 million strong. If the NRA IS DOING SOMETHING we don't like IT'S OUR OWN FAULT!! We can have the best and most powerful pro gun group that has ever existed on the planet IF we take few minutes to do the right thing!

Here it is: Petition to Recall Joaquin Jackson

And also in pdf, see below.

This is a hot link so you click it and it should download to your computer. It's a Word doc.

You'll get the first page which is the petition and two follow on pages with additional info as to why I'm doing this. (If you've followed this thread on GT then you already know. )

Feel free to post this link in other places. Be sure you "copy shortcut" to get megaupload address!

If there are any problems with the link PM me so I can contact the file storage site.

Get this around to gun shows, clubs, ranges etc. We need to act fairly quickly as this needs to get in in time to make the print deadline for the next annual meeting. We've got about two months.

Remember, we need 450 total, with a minimum of 100 from three states to qualify.

Can we make this a sticky for the next two months or so? Thanks.

Now also available right here in pdf thanks to Stevemis!!

So far this is how far I've got:

794 dl's so far*. Keep them going!! Nationwide!!!!

The hard part will be getting 100 per at least three states.

*as of edited time below and not including pdf dl's.

Petitions received (had to send one back to TX as it was missing info)
                            California - 3
                            Colorado - 1
                            Florida - 1
                            Georgia - 1
                            Illinois - 1
                            Maryland - 1
                            Nebraska - 1
                            New Jersey - 1
                            New York - 1
                            North Dakota - 1
                            Pennsylvania - 2
                            Texas - 1
                            Virginia - 5

The power is in the hands of the members IF they choose to use it. Right there in your Bylaws booklet. 4.3 million members is nothing to sneeze at and could be SO doggone effective if our board reflected our views. I understand the frustration but we've got to realize it's right here in our palms, if we'd just use them. We've no one to fault but ourselves if they are doing things we don't want them to.

I've started this thread in the 2nd Amendment forum and I'll be keeping that one up to date. I only posted here as I was having so much problem trying to start a new thread this morning I came here. You guys let me know if you think it would do better here or there.

If you are a voting member you follow the recall process: start a petition according to the bylaws (I've already done this step for this "issue") and with the NRA's approval (for formatting, not approval to do it. Any voting member can start a petition if they want), I've got Secretary Land's okay that my form meets the guidelines. Get enough votes (450 total, 100 in each of three states or more). Once the petition is validated (meets the numbers required), the NRA will convene a hearing committee and they will discuss this matter and render an opinion. If they are divided two reports will be made, majority and minority. At the hearing I and the petitionee (Mr. Jackson in this case) can submit a 500 word essay (and you thought you'd never have to write one in the "real" world!) pointing out our views. Regardless of what they render the two statements and the committee's report(s) will be included along with the special recall ballot that all voting members will get in their March magazine.

Now with 4.3 million members we can do this! If we did this every time a board member stepped out of line with the bylaws (as I believe Mr. Jackson has done) and hurt our efforts to restore American's 2A rights we can yank them. All it takes is a voting membership willing to spend 15 minutes to research (I've included links to make it easy) and sign a petition. this is our club and we are responsible for how it is operated. If it's not operating the way we want then it's our fault if we don't fix it.

BTW, I just sent GOA $500 bucks for a lifetime membership. NRA, that coulda been yours!! I'll keep my Patron membership as it gives me the ability to take action but until I see change I'll send my money elsewhere.

(As a footnote, the NRA is involved in ALOT of other things, all of them GREAT and WONDERFUL. I'd hate to see those things go to the wayside when we have the opportunity to fix these 2A things and so eat our cake and have it too!

Oh, and if you're not a voting member you get on the horn and on email and let them know!
